(as I begin this text, My youngest brother, Benjamin bounds across the house in vain to "de-stick" a frozen popsicle to his frantic ,dyed & discolored tongue, thus illustrating my point of...well wacky, for lack of a better word.)
My usual is nonexistent for I do not have an average day, nor do I want one.
My usual is sporadic joyous chaos. And that I have freshly determined is unusual.
My family, is a unique unit held together by differences, love, and that craving for frustration we all hanker for deep down inside (maybe not the latter?).
But none the less, the complete differences seem to hold us together and keep us functioning (or) keep us on edge....I'm not confident of the difference.
In personality the scale of similarity differentiates immensely.
In desire the range is massive.
In skill the sphere is extensive.
And that, that could cause us to grow ever closer.
Our immediate family, (my mom, dad, brothers, & sisters) consists of a Teacher, Mediator, Counselor, Author, Executive, Lawyer, Mechanic, Store Manager, Full time Musician, Actors, Mama's, Exemplary Cooks, & Students.
To see it in black & white makes me realize...we could be a living, functioning civilization on our own!
The vast talent & skill brings us to rely on each-other and be very close.
That same talent & skill also brings us to be very different in opinions, beliefs, and methods of communication.
I lead a fun life. Rarely dull (for if it is that is due to the individuals consent.) Other than my brother who lives in London, England we all live in a very small radius of one another (maybe 15 miles?).
I glance at different families...different sizes, shapes, ethnics, beliefs. We seem to bear it all. As I walk through the every day that which may seem mundane to some it is not to me. Even setting the dinner table is a jovial 'chore' I readily accept. I enjoy hearing the varying number of plates, forks, napkins, etc. that need to be placed (artistically...for our table is swallowed 10x over when we are all around it.) around our long wooden four-legged support.
I lead beautiful life as I state readily and often. I am a happy child who wonders...why grow up? But the only answer I can muster is "so I may do it all my own" and develop my own crazy, wacky, oversize tribe of a family. And that's my life.
My family is a gift, I am thankful God wrapped.
This is an account of a day in the life a free and independent nomadic individual who answers to the name -
Bethany Michelle Harkins.
Join her as she travels on a journey towards deep discovery and awareness of the world outside her prim suburban abode. Colloquy of travel, discussion of dissertations, random written discourses, transcripts of inspiration, and many random whimsical ramblings are foreseen in the impending text.
Fancy that?

aCuriousDream
"I want to be somewhere where i can get lost in the woods." - came the words straight from my mouth.
"Oh, yes. That is every little girls dream."- My brother in-law (Shawn) teased.
"It certainly has never been my little girls, dream!" - Mama spoke out relating to the same unfamiliar infatuation.
And there it was. I hide nothing & typically speak my mind. This unnatural desire has consumed my mind and sparked a constant vagary of endless greenery and budding flowers ever since I uttered that blatant statement. I envision an existence enhanced by burgeoning life encompassing me through nature and beauty of the country.
And today we (My Mother, Father, Nana, & Dana) took a trip to "the country"...
and woah, today was powerful.

Endless skies & Endless Dreams walk side by side & hand in hand.

The older the (site, the) more history, the more history the more mystery, the more mystery the more my interest is peaked.

A 'set-in-stone' fact: boots belong on acreage.

The grass is greener,

the conversations deeper,

allure ever more authentic,

and walks a wee bit wilder,

"deep in the heart of Texas".

(on the road again...)

Today was a day of antique sightings, memories a million miles wide, and plenty of those classic faces of confusion from my Daddy. (here he is chuckling due to the delight, despite (the sky rocketing level of) simplicity (found at a gas station).

(that look...that's called contentment.)

some nonsense you may not care to see....

...one way to take my breath away.

our new friend, Timmy (and my, Daddy).

One mans junk is another mans treasure. Is that how 'they' say it?

*2nd honk (from a truck) of the day* Dana turns, "Do we know you?" she says.

Country life or City Life? What a dilemma...
My mind flashes to my favored "vhs" as a little-bitty-girl "Country Mouse & City Mouse" owned the rank of # 1 on my list...and what can I say? "God knows what He is doing." and He is such a creator of beauty...pure beauty. (speaking of pure- I wore NO MAKE-UP today and it was wonderful...being tan always boosts my confidence level)
Signing out with a question,
are you a "country mouse" or "city mouse"?

Clarity in Harmony with Destiny
Speak hope,
See the essence of liveliness,
Act truth,
Live benevolence.
Dream in depths alien to the common man.
Actions birth as dreams develop.
See the essence of liveliness,
Act truth,
Live benevolence.
Dream in depths alien to the common man.
Actions birth as dreams develop.
Visions softly speak
clarity
in harmony
with destiny
while the pull of gravity
towards practicality
weighs
light
the burden of every functioning breath in direction of the cross.
A step towards who (Y)ou are-
and whom you are called to be.
Equality in mind
and level headed projections
might be absent
at present
but a sound mind remains intact.
If you have faith & speak hope, see the essence of liveliness, act truth, & live benevolence.
May peace & joy rise from the ashes of neglect.
(a melancholy melody)
those dreams
they are not to be neglected.
protect
your
heart.
Never,
forget how to truly love.
Let neither regret nor neglect occupy any capacity inside of your heart.
Be honest, never self-absorbed.
Do not doubt-
your heart will lead
listen and obey.
Oh, and that I might cry,
WHY?
....would you not rise.
Remember
Reflect
LIVE....YOUR....DREAMS.
Remember,
Reflect,
those dreams
they are not to be neglected.
protect
your
heart.
Never,
forget how to truly love.
Let neither regret nor neglect occupy any capacity inside of your heart.
Be honest, never self-absorbed.
Do not doubt-
your heart will lead
listen and obey.
Oh, and that I might cry,
WHY?
....would you not rise.
Remember
Reflect
LIVE....YOUR....DREAMS.
